Advanced Light & Laser Treatments In Sale, Manchester
Clearer. Smoother. More refined-looking skin.
Changes in skin quality are not always about lines and wrinkles.
Pigmentation, redness, visible vessels, sun damage, enlarged pores and changes in texture can gradually alter the way your skin looks and feels, often becoming increasingly noticeable with time.
FROM £295At our doctor-led skin clinic in Sale, Cheshire, near Manchester, we use advanced Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and Er:YAG laser technology to treat these different elements of skin ageing and skin quality.
Rather than treating every concern in isolation, our signature GLASS and SMOOTH protocols allow us to combine complementary technologies within carefully planned treatments, tailored to what we see in your skin.
And when your skin doesn’t require a complete protocol, standalone IPL or Er:YAG laser resurfacing can be used to target a more specific concern.
GLASS
Restore clarity. Rediscover radiance.
Ageing is not only defined by lines or loss of volume. Changes in the clarity, colour and luminosity of your complexion can be just as revealing.
Over time, pigmentation, sun damage, persistent redness and visible vessels can leave skin looking less clear, uneven and dull, despite investing considerable time and care in your skin.
Taking a comprehensive whole-face approach, GLASS combines a preparatory multi-acid peel with advanced Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). We first address your complexion globally before focusing with greater precision on the areas that need additional attention.
Consider GLASS if you are concerned with:
- Pigmentation and sun damage
- Age spots
- Rosacea and persistent redness
- Visible facial vessels
- Uneven skin tone
- Dullness and loss of luminosity
The GLASS Skin Protocol
Prepare
We begin with a multi-acid peel to remove the build-up of dead surface skin cells.
This refines the skin’s surface and prepares it for the IPL that follows, creating a clearer pathway for the light and helping us to optimise your treatment.
Rejuvenate
IPL is then delivered across the whole face, allowing us to treat your entire complexion rather than simply targeting isolated areas.
Unlike a laser, which uses a single wavelength of light, IPL delivers a controlled spectrum of light that can be tailored to different colours within the skin. The light is absorbed by excess pigment and visible blood vessels, allowing us to address pigmentation, redness and signs of sun damage with precision.
Alongside these visible changes, the controlled light energy creates a gentle regenerative response within the skin, supporting collagen production and overall skin rejuvenation.
Refine
We then focus additional IPL precisely where your skin needs it most.
Whether this is an area of pigmentation, persistent redness, rosacea or individual visible vessels, this stage allows us to adapt GLASS to your particular complexion and concerns.
Restore
Your treatment is completed with carefully selected soothing and regenerative ingredients to calm, hydrate and support your skin.
What should you expect after GLASS?
Your skin may feel warm and appear slightly pink or flushed immediately afterwards.
Areas of pigmentation can temporarily darken before gradually lifting, while treated redness or vessels may initially appear more noticeable before settling. Your skin may also feel slightly drier for a few days following treatment.
For most patients, GLASS involves minimal downtime and normal day-to-day activities can continue.
SMOOTH
Refine texture. Renew skin.
When pigmentation and redness aren’t your only concerns, improving the complexion sometimes requires us to go further.
Perhaps you’re noticing that pores appear more prominent, fine lines are becoming more established, or acne scarring and areas of uneven texture have become increasingly noticeable. You may simply feel that your skin no longer has the smooth, refined surface quality it once did, particularly in certain lights or underneath make-up.
By combining full-face IPL rejuvenation with fractional Er:YAG laser resurfacing, we can address different aspects of skin ageing and skin quality within one carefully tailored treatment.
The Er:YAG element allows us to resurface your skin with control and precision, targeting textural change and stimulating renewal at the depth your skin actually needs without automatically resorting to deeper or more intensive resurfacing.
Consider SMOOTH if you are concerned with:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Enlarged or visible pores
- Rough or uneven skin texture
- Acne scarring
- Sun damage and pigmentation
- Overall skin quality
The SMOOTH Skin Protocol
Rejuvenate
We begin with IPL across the whole face to target pigmentation, sun damage and uneven tone while supporting overall skin rejuvenation.
Resurface
We then treat the whole face with fractional Er:YAG laser resurfacing.
Er:YAG is an ablative laser that allows us to resurface the skin with a high degree of precision. Its fractional delivery creates controlled microscopic treatment zones, leaving areas of untreated skin between them to support the natural healing process.
This controlled approach allows us to stimulate skin renewal and collagen remodelling while making recovery more manageable than would be expected from deeper, full-field resurfacing.
Refine
Your treatment is then adapted according to your skin’s individual needs.
Whether your priority is pores, fine lines, roughness or areas of textural change, additional treatment can be focused precisely where your skin requires greater attention.
Soothe
Following resurfacing, the skin is cooled and carefully supported to help calm the immediate post-treatment response.
What should you expect after SMOOTH?
Your skin is likely to feel hot and appear red immediately afterwards.
Over the following days, it may feel dry or rough and lightly peel as the resurfacing response develops. Areas of pigmentation treated with IPL can temporarily darken before gradually clearing.
You can usually continue with normal day-to-day activities, although you may prefer to avoid make-up for a couple of days while the skin settles.
Which treatment is right for your skin?
GLASS and SMOOTH share some technology, but they have been developed to address different priorities within your skin.
GLASS
Think clarity and radiance
If your primary concerns are the colour, clarity and evenness of your complexion, GLASS may be the more appropriate starting point.
It is particularly suited to concerns such as pigmentation, sun damage, redness, rosacea and visible vessels.
SMOOTH
Think texture and renewal
If your concerns extend beyond colour into the texture and surface quality of your skin, SMOOTH allows us to take your treatment a stage further.
Because SMOOTH also incorporates IPL, pigmentation, sun damage and uneven tone can be addressed at the same time as we resurface your skin with the Er:YAG laser.
You don’t need to decide.
Your skin will be assessed and we’ll recommend the treatment protocol and course that best matches your concerns, your skin and the results you are hoping to achieve.
And sometimes, less is more.
Where a complete GLASS or SMOOTH protocol isn’t necessary, we may recommend standalone IPL or Er:YAG laser treatment instead.
Targeted Light & Laser
IPL
Targeted treatment for pigmentation, redness and visible vessels
Not every concern requires a full-face GLASS treatment.
If you have a more specific area of pigmentation, persistent redness or visible facial vessels, standalone IPL treatment allows us to target that concern without necessarily treating your skin with the complete GLASS protocol.
IPL uses controlled pulses of light that can be tailored according to the colour we want to target within your skin.
Depending on your assessment, standalone IPL may be considered for:
- Localised pigmentation and age spots
- Sun damage
- Persistent facial redness
- Rosacea-related redness
- Visible facial vessels
- Individual vascular or pigmented lesions
Treatment can be focused on an individual concern or a particular area, depending on what your skin requires.
Er:YAG Laser Resurfacing
Precision resurfacing, tailored to your skin
Sometimes colour isn’t the concern at all.
If your priority is deeper lines, wrinkles, acne scarring or more established textural change, standalone Er:YAG laser resurfacing allows us to focus specifically on resurfacing and renewal.
Er:YAG is an ablative laser that precisely removes microscopic amounts of skin, stimulating a healing response and subsequent collagen remodelling.
One of its advantages is the degree of control it gives us.
Treatment can be tailored according to the degree of resurfacing your skin requires. For some patients this may mean a lighter fractional treatment. Where more established lines or textural changes are being targeted, additional passes or more intensive resurfacing may be appropriate.
This allows us to balance the level of correction we are aiming to achieve with the recovery associated with treatment.
Standalone Er:YAG laser resurfacing may be considered for:
- Fine lines and more established wrinkles
- Acne scarring
- Rough or uneven texture
- Enlarged pores
- Areas of more significant textural change
- Overall skin resurfacing and renewal
Why Choose A Course?
You may notice changes following a single treatment, but meaningful improvements in skin are usually progressive.
Pigmentation, vascular concerns, sun damage and texture don’t necessarily respond at the same rate. Collagen renewal also takes time.
A course allows us to build on the results of each treatment, monitor how your skin responds and adapt subsequent treatments as your skin changes.

How Many Treatments Will You Need?
There is no single answer.
For some skin concerns, a course of three treatments may be appropriate. More established pigmentation, redness, textural changes or multiple concerns may benefit from a course of six.
We’ll recommend the course that is appropriate for your skin and the result you want to achieve.
Courses are not time limited and can also be spread out to include maintenance treatments.
Treatment suitability and course recommendations are determined following an individual skin assessment. A patch test appointment is required before starting treatment.
Your Treatment, Planned Around You
The right light or laser treatment depends on much more than choosing between IPL and laser.
Your skin type, concerns, treatment history, degree of correction required and tolerance for downtime all influence the treatment we recommend.
At our doctor-led skin clinic in Sale, Cheshire, near Manchester, we’ll assess your skin and create an individual treatment plan — whether that’s GLASS, SMOOTH, targeted IPL, standalone Er:YAG laser resurfacing or a carefully planned course combining treatment over time.
